雪深い山里で生まれた秘技
滋賀と言えば誰もが琵琶湖を思い浮かべるが、実は県の東部はとても山深く、関西を代表する豪雪地帯になっている。
鈴鹿山脈を望む三重との県境、茅葺屋根が残る日本の原風景が広がる君ヶ畑集落は人口十数人、秘境と呼ぶにふさわしい山里だ。
その秘境を目指して全国の人たちが参拝に訪れる場所がある。大皇器地祖神社（おおきみきじそじんじゃ）、木地師の祖とされる惟喬親王を祀るお宮である。
木地師とは、木工用のろくろを使って器などを挽く職人のこと、日本人の暮らしを支えてきた生活用品は、滋賀の山里で生まれたのだという。
平安時代にこの地を訪れた惟喬親王が村の人に伝えたという木地師の技を、発祥の地でただ一人守る匠がいる。
この地で生まれ育った小椋昭二さんだ。
"Secret techniques born in a snowy mountain village "
When you think of Shiga, everyone thinks of Lake Biwa, but in fact the eastern part of the prefecture is very mountainous, and is one of the areas that receives the heaviest snowfall in the Kansai region. On the border with Mie Prefecture overlooking the Suzuka Mountains, Kimigahata Village, with its original Japanese landscape of thatched roofs, has a population of just a dozen people and is a mountain village worthy of being called a hidden place. There is a place that people from all over the country visit to visit this hidden place. Ookimikijiso Shrine, a shrine dedicated to Prince Koretaka, who is said to be the ancestor of woodworkers. A woodworker is a craftsman who uses a woodworking wheel to turn vessels and other items, and it is said that the daily necessities that have supported the lives of Japanese people were born in the mountain village of Shiga. There is a craftsman who is the only one who preserves the woodworker's skills in the birthplace of the craft, which Prince Koretaka passed on to the villagers when he visited this area during the Heian period. His name is Shoji Ogura, who was born and raised in this area.
"诞生于雪山村的秘法"
当人们想到滋贺时，就会想到琵琶湖，但该县东部实际上多山，是关西地区降雪最多的地区之一。 君端村位于与三重县接壤处，面朝铃鹿山脉，村内保留着原始的日本茅草屋顶景观，人口仅有十余人，是一座堪称秘境的山村。 这里有一块隐藏的瑰宝，吸引着来自世界各地的人们前来参拜。大御寺庄神社是祭祀被称为木工祖先的惟孝亲王的神社。 木工是使用木工轮来车削容器等的工匠，支撑日本人生活的日常用品就诞生在滋贺的山村。 这项木工技术的发源地只有一位工匠，据说是由平安时代到访此地的惟孝亲王传给村民的。 这是我出生并成长于这一地区的小仓正二。
すべて独学！木を自在に操る匠
元々、製材所に勤めていた小椋さん、時代と共に木の需要が無くなり、仕事が減ってきたことから小さいころから好きだった木工の道に進もうと決心した。
実は君ヶ畑では、永らく木地師の系譜は途絶えていた。
小椋さんは、発祥の村で200年ぶりに伝説を継承した木地師になったのである。
周りに頼る人が誰もいない中、木の乾燥、木挽き、磨き、全てを独学で編み出し作品を生み出してきた。
今ではその出来栄えに惹かれた全国のファンが、小椋さんの作品を買い求めに湖東の山里訪れるようになった。
“All self-taught! A craftsman who manipulates wood with ease”
Ogura-san originally worked at a sawmill, but as the demand for wood decreased over time and work became scarce, he decided to pursue woodworking, which he had loved since childhood. In fact, the lineage of woodworkers had been lost in Kimigahata for a long time. Ogura-san became the first woodworker in 200 years to inherit the legend in the birthplace of the craft. With no one to rely on, he taught himself how to dry, saw, polish, and create his works. Now, fans from all over the country, attracted by his work, visit the mountain village of Koto to buy Ogura-san's works.
“全部都是自学成才！一位精通木工的工匠”
小仓原本在一家锯木厂工作，但随着木材需求逐渐减少，工作机会也越来越少，他决定从事木工，这是他从小就热爱的职业。 事实上，君端木工的血统早已失传。 小仓成为200年来第一个在该工艺的发源地延续这一传奇的木匠。 在无人可依靠的情况下，他自学了如何干燥、锯切和抛光木材，并创作了自己的作品。 现在，来自全国各地的粉丝被他作品的品质所吸引，开始前往江东山村购买小仓的作品。
面白い木目に出会いたい
小椋さんがこよなく愛するのは、どこにもない木目。
通常、木工品は柾目に引いた板を使った直線の木目の物が好まれるが、小椋さんはあえて目の通った針葉樹よりも、複雑な木目を持つ広葉樹を使い、その木にしか出せない独特な模様を楽しんでもらおうと腕を振るう。
木に出来た節や瘤なども全て個性の内、挽いていく内に予想もしない面白い木目が出てきた時が一番の面白いという。
出てきた木目はもちろん、世界に2つとないオンリーワン。
その目の魅力を壊さないよう、漆はおろか、耐水用のガラスコーティングさえ施さず、素肌のままで仕上げるのだ。
木は生のままで使ってこそ、本来の輝きを発揮する。
長年使い込んだお盆に出来た輪染みすら、小椋さんの作品だと味に見えてくる。
木の国に生まれ、発祥の地で木に寄り添い続けた匠だからこその味わいである。
"I want to encounter interesting wood grain"
Ogura loves wood grain that can't be found anywhere else. Usually, woodworking products using boards cut in the straight grain are preferred, but Ogura uses broadleaf wood with complex grain rather than coniferous wood with a straight grain, and shows off his skills so that people can enjoy the unique patterns that only that wood can produce. The knots and bumps in the wood are all part of its individuality, and the most interesting part is when an unexpected and interesting grain appears during the sawing process. Of course, the grain that appears is one of a kind. In order not to destroy the charm of the grain, he does not apply lacquer or even a waterproof glass coating, but finishes it as it is. Wood only shines when used raw. Even the ring stains that appear on a tray that has been used for many years look like a part of Ogura's work. This is the flavor that only a craftsman born in the land of wood and living close to wood in its birthplace can achieve.
“我想找到有趣的木纹”
